Mediterranea is a 2015 Italian drama directed by Jonas Carpignano that follows Ayiva, a man from Burkina Faso who embarks on a perilous journey through a smuggling operation to reach Italy in search of a better life. Alongside his friend Abas, Ayiva endures the dangers of desert bandits and a treacherous sea crossing, only to find that survival of the voyage is just the beginning. Upon arrival in Italy, the two men face escalating hostility and violence from the local community, forcing them to navigate circumstances far more threatening than they anticipated.

This single-disc DVD release runs 107 minutes and is not rated. Starring first-time actor Koudous Seihon in a revelatory performance alongside Alassane Sy and Adam Gnegne, the film presents a gripping portrait of migration and survival told with vivid realism. Audax Films released this unflinching examination of a humanitarian crisis that remains urgent today. Own this powerful drama on physical media at a used price.
