John Neumeier’s Matthaus Passion is a ballet that reimagines Johann Sebastian Bach’s St. Matthew Passion through choreography and movement. Rather than presenting the sacred story in traditional concert form, Neumeier merges the classical composition with contemporary dance to convey the spiritual narrative in a fresh artistic language.

This single-disc DVD release comes from Arthaus Musik and captures the full performance on screen. Owning this used copy lets you experience an innovative take on Bach’s masterwork without the new price tag.
