Haeckel’s Tale is a 2006 horror television film from the Masters of Horror anthology series, directed by John McNaughton and based on a short story by Clive Barker. The story follows a medical student consumed by his obsession with reanimating the dead, whose ambitions become entangled with a woman whose passion for her deceased husband remains undiminished. McNaughton drew inspiration from the Gothic sensibilities and visual style of 1960s horror cinema, creating a period piece that blends eerie atmosphere with melodramatic performances and genuine scares.

This single-disc DVD release runs 59 minutes and carries an unrated rating from Anchor Bay Entertainment. The episode features a cast including Derek Cecil, Angela Case, Anthony Harrison, and others, with makeup effects by Greg Nicotero and Howard Berger. Bonus materials include interviews with McNaughton discussing his career and approach to the film, as well as conversations with cast members.
