Madeline is a 1993 animated series from Sony Pictures based on Ludwig Bemelmans’s beloved character. This collection features two episodes following the spirited young schoolgirl and her friends in Paris and beyond. In “Madeline at the Ballet,” a dance master initially dismisses Madeline as too small for a production of The Happy Swan, but with encouragement from Miss Clavel and a second chance, she proves herself through hard work and determination. “Madeline in New York” takes Madeline and her classmates on a trip to the city, where an unexpected prize leads to an unusual adventure. Christopher Plummer narrates both episodes in Bemelmans’s signature rhyming style.
