Mad Season is the second studio album from rock band Matchbox Twenty, released in 2000. Following the massive success of their 1996 debut, the band returned with a collection that showcases their artistic growth and musical range. Led by vocalist Rob Thomas alongside guitarists Kyle Cook and Adam Gaynor, bassist Brian Yale, and drummer Paul Doucette, the album explores themes of connection and disconnection in modern life. Recorded in Atlanta and Nashville in late 1999 and produced by Matt Serletic, Mad Season demonstrates the band’s evolution as songwriters and performers, incorporating orchestral arrangements and horn sections alongside their signature rock sound.

This CD contains 12 tracks including “Angry,” “If You’re Gone,” “Rest Stop,” “Bent,” and the title track “Mad Season,” with a total runtime of approximately 50 minutes. Released on the Melisma/Lava/Atlantic label, the album represents a creative leap forward for the group after years of touring and refining their craft.
