Voces8, a British a cappella octet, released this contemporary classical album in 2015, drawing from sacred and choral works spanning over four centuries. The program moves from Renaissance pieces like those by Thomas Tallis and Gregorio Allegri through modern interpretations of songs by Massive Attack and Ben Folds Five, alongside original compositions from acclaimed contemporary composers Ola Gjeilo and Will Todd. The album explores the concept of light as a source of spiritual comfort and inspiration across musical eras.

This CD features the ensemble’s signature unaccompanied vocal harmonies enhanced by instrumental additions including saxophone, cello, harp, and water glasses on select tracks. Notable pieces include Ubi Caritas, O Nata Lux, Lux Aeterna, Teardrop, Miserere, and Ave Maria. A used copy lets you experience this luminous collection at a fraction of retail cost.
