Love Affair is a 1939 romantic drama directed by Leo McCarey and starring Charles Boyer and Irene Dunne. A charming French playboy encounters a former nightclub singer while traveling by ship to America, where he had planned to marry a wealthy woman. The two fall for each other and make a promise to reunite atop the Empire State Building six months later. When the fateful date arrives, circumstances beyond their control threaten to keep them apart, yet their connection proves strong enough to bring them back together.
