Lost West End: London’s Forgotten Musicals is a 2015 soundtrack collection celebrating obscure West End productions that graced London stages between 1976 and 2009. Featuring vocalists including Alexander Hanson, David Essex, and Graham Bickley alongside other accomplished West End performers, this album brings together songs from 21 theatrical works that had brief runs but left behind compelling scores. The selection spans ambitious through-sung adaptations of classic literature such as Gone with the Wind, The Far Pavilions, and Tess of the D’Urbervilles, alongside musical biographies of historical figures including Leonardo da Vinci, Toulouse Lautrec, and Bernadette Soubirous. Though these shows didn’t always receive critical acclaim, their music remains distinctive and worth discovering.

This CD contains 21 tracks drawn from these lost productions, offering a window into London’s theatrical history. Grab a used copy and explore these forgotten gems at a fraction of the original cost.
