Lord Peter Wimsey investigates a suspicious death at an advertising agency in this 1973 British mystery television series. When copywriter Victor Dean falls down a metal staircase at Pym’s Publicity Ltd, the circumstances surrounding his death raise questions about whether it was an accident or murder. To uncover the truth, the aristocratic detective infiltrates the agency undercover as a new writer. Ian Carmichael returns in his signature role as Dorothy L. Sayers’s clever sleuth, navigating the chaotic world of London advertising while pursuing leads that connect Dean to a mysterious socialite and her dangerous circle of associates.

This BBC miniseries spans two DVDs with a total runtime of three hours and twenty minutes and carries a not-rated designation. Directed by Rodney Bennett and adapted by Bill Craig from Sayers’s novel, the cast includes Christopher Timothy, Fiona Walker, John Hallam, Caroline Dowdeswell, and Antony Carrick. A hand-inspected copy of this period mystery drama awaits you in our collection.
