BR5-49 recorded this live album in 1996 at Robert’s Western Wear, capturing the honky-tonk ensemble that revitalized Nashville’s country music scene. The band performs original songs like “Hillbilly Thang,” “18 Wheels & A Crowbar,” and “Me ‘N’ Opie (Down By The Duck Pond),” separated by spoken-word interludes and crowd interaction. The set also includes a traditional ballad, “Knoxville Girl,” performed with eerie harmonies, showcasing the group’s range beyond their comedic material.

This CD contains the complete live performance from Robert’s, featuring the raw energy and sometimes chaotic spirit of BR5-49’s show. You’re getting a snapshot of a band that brought rowdy, unpretentious fun back to Nashville’s honky-tonk venues. Own this piece of country music history at a used price that won’t drain your wallet.
