Chasing Sound is a 2007 documentary directed by John Paulson and Les Paul that chronicles the life of the legendary guitarist and inventor who revolutionized popular music. The film traces Les Paul’s remarkable journey from his hometown of Waukesha through Chicago, Nashville, and Hollywood, documenting his pioneering work in solid-body electric guitar design and multi-track recording technology. Through interviews with fellow musicians including Jeff Beck, Tony Bennett, and others, combined with archival performances and a soundtrack of his greatest hits, the documentary captures how this vaudeville performer became a foundational figure in rock and roll history.

This single-disc DVD release runs 90 minutes and is not rated. Produced by Paulson Productions, it features extensive bonus content including full-length performances from the Iridium Jazz Club, vintage duets with Keith Richards and Chet Atkins, classic television appearances, and extended conversations with Les Paul himself. Own this documentary about one of music’s most influential innovators at a used price.
