Legacy is a 1996 album by Michael Callen, a singer, songwriter, and AIDS activist who co-founded the People With AIDS self-empowerment movement and performed with the a cappella group The Flirtations. Facing a terminal diagnosis, Callen recorded this project as a musical legacy, featuring collaborations with artists including Holly Near, Cris Williamson, Tom Robinson, and Fred Hersch. The album blends folk, jazz, Latin, pop, and reggae influences while capturing Callen’s distinctive voice as both a political advocate and accomplished vocalist.

This is a two-disc CD released on the Art Food Music and Axis Studios labels. Legacy earned four awards at the inaugural Gay and Lesbian American Music Awards, including Album of the Year and Male Artist of the Year. Own this meaningful recording on physical media from our used collection.
