Laya Project is a 2007 electronic and world music album created by musicians from coastal communities across Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia, the Maldives, Myanmar, and India. Drawing from regional folk traditions in areas affected by the 2004 tsunami, the album blends traditional recordings with studio production to create a cross-border musical journey. The work serves as a tribute to the resilience of survivors and honors the communities impacted by the December 26, 2004 Asian tsunami.
This CD contains 12 tracks including “Glorious Sun (Remix),” “Muliya,” “Ya Allah,” and “Touare,” with a total runtime of approximately 56 minutes. A used copy of this album lets you own a meaningful recording that celebrates cultural heritage and human perseverance.
