Late Marriage is a 2001 Israeli comedy-drama directed by Dover Koshashvili that follows Zaza, a 31-year-old bachelor caught between his own desires and his family’s rigid expectations. His parents, Yasha and Lily, pressure him to marry a young, unmarried woman from a wealthy family, dragging him to meet potential brides in accordance with their Georgian Jewish traditions. Unknown to his family, Zaza is already in love with Judith, a divorced woman with a young daughter, forcing him to choose between honoring his family’s suffocating customs and pursuing genuine happiness with the woman he truly loves.
