Canadian singer-songwriter Sarah Slean released Land & Sea in 2011 as her sixth studio album. This two-disc set presents contrasting sonic landscapes: Land features energetic rock-pop with Slean’s vocals and keyboards supported by percussion and bass, exploring themes of modern life through catchy melodies and rhythmic hooks. Sea takes a different approach, arranging Slean’s songs with a full string orchestra, evoking influences from classical composers and creating a more introspective, melancholic atmosphere that unfolds with wistful elegance.

This is a two-CD set released by Canadian indie label Pheromone Recordings. Land contains nine tracks including “Everybody’s On TV,” “The Day We Saved The World,” “Set It Free,” and “I Am A Light,” while Sea features nine additional songs with orchestral arrangements. The album showcases Slean’s range as both a melodist and lyricist, moving from upbeat pop-rock to deeply emotional string-backed compositions.
