Keren Ann’s 2002 sophomore album La Disparition showcases the Israeli singer-songwriter’s introspective approach to folk and electronic music. Born in Caesarea to a Japanese-Dutch mother and Russian-Israeli father, Ann grew up in Paris and draws comparisons to legendary French vocalists like Françoise Hardy and Jane Birkin. The album blends melancholy folk sensibilities with electronic loops, creating an atmospheric soundscape across eleven tracks including “Au Coin Du Monde,” “Le Sable Mouvant,” and “Mes Pas Dans La Neige.”

This CD was released by EMI and features Ann’s distinctive songwriting style that would later gain wider recognition in the United States. You’re acquiring a used copy of a formative work from an artist who continues to divide her time between Paris and Tel Aviv.
