John Q is a 2002 crime thriller directed by Nick Cassavetes and written by James Kearns. Denzel Washington stars as a father pushed to the breaking point when his young son needs a heart transplant but cannot access it through conventional means. Alongside Washington, the film features Ray Liotta and Robert Duvall in a story that examines the desperation parents face within America’s healthcare system and the lengths someone might go to save their child’s life.
