CD Details
Rich Mullins recorded these acoustic demos in 1998, accompanying himself on piano and guitar for what would become The Jesus Record. Blending folk, rock, and Appalachian influences, the album showcases Mullins’ songwriting through intimate solo performances of tracks like Hard To Get, My Deliverer, Surely God Is With Us, and Heaven In His Eyes. Released on Word Records, this collection represents Mullins’ original vision for these compositions before they were arranged and recorded by the Ragamuffin Band with other vocalists.
This CD contains the demo recordings from the first disc of the two-disc set, featuring Mullins’ unadorned interpretations of nine songs performed solo with minimal instrumentation. The album serves as a poignant document of his artistry during the 1990s contemporary Christian music scene. Owning this used copy lets you experience these stripped-down arrangements at a fraction of the cost of a new release.
