Shai’s 1992 debut album If I Ever Fall In Love showcases the R&B group’s blend of funk and soul across a diverse set of tracks. The ensemble, featuring Kevin Levi on saxophone alongside keyboardists Bill Appleberry, Marc Gay, Carl “Groove” Martin, and Darnell Van Rensalier, along with programmer Jeff “Stimpy” Carruthers, recorded the album across three California and Virginia studios. While the material varies in approach, the group delivers strong performances throughout, with the standout title track representing the polished urban R&B sound the group could achieve at their best.

This CD edition includes the original version of “If I Ever Fall In Love” alongside a remix and acappella version, plus tracks like “Sexual Interlude,” “Comforter,” “Together Forever,” “Flava,” “Baby I’m Yours,” “Waiting For The Day,” and “Changes.” You’re getting a hand-inspected copy of this funk and soul release from the early nineties.
