Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz star in this 1953 comedy film directed by Edward Sedgwick and Marc Daniels, compiled from episodes of the Emmy-winning television series I Love Lucy. The movie weaves together three first-season storylines-“The Benefit,” “Breaking the Lease,” and “The Ballet”-with newly shot connective footage that places viewers in the Desilu studio audience. Ball’s signature physical comedy and the chemistry between the cast members, including Vivian Vance and William Frawley, make this a family-friendly snapshot of the show’s early popularity.

This single-disc DVD release runs 80 minutes and carries a not-rated designation. Originally produced to capitalize on the series’ success but shelved due to a theatrical conflict, the film was lost for decades before its rediscovery in 2001, making it a significant find for classic television enthusiasts. The disc includes bonus features alongside the main presentation. Own this piece of television history at a fraction of what you’d spend on a complete series set.
