Have Gun Will Travel is a Western television series that premiered in 1957, starring Richard Boone as Paladin, a sophisticated gunfighter and West Point alumnus. Based in San Francisco’s Hotel Carlton, Paladin takes on assignments throughout the Old West, preferring to resolve conflicts through wit and diplomacy rather than violence. When forced to draw his gun, however, he proves himself a formidable fighter. The show was created by Sam Rolfe and Herb Meadow, with direction by Andrew V. McLaglen, Buzz Kulik, and Richard Boone himself, and features supporting performances from Hal Needham, Kam Tong, and Lisa Lu.
