Ike Reilly’s 2009 album Hard Lucky Stories showcases the rock artist as a skilled storyteller and dark humorist, blending gritty narratives with melodic sensibilities. The record moves fluidly between groove-oriented arrangements, corroded R&B, furious punk-blues, lounge-pop, and classic rock influences. Reilly’s songs balance raw emotional impact with sharp wit, exploring the blurred lines between reality and fiction. The album features a duet with Shooter Jennings on “The War on the Terror And the Drugs” and includes studio work with David Lowery of Cracker.

This CD contains nine tracks spanning over 38 minutes of music released by Ike Reilly. Standout songs include the opening “Morning Glory,” the driving “7 Come 11,” and the extended narrative “The Ballad Of Jack & Hailey.” A used copy of Hard Lucky Stories gives you access to an original artist whose songwriting and distinctive voice have earned critical praise from major publications.
