Hancock is a 2008 action-comedy directed by Peter Berg and written by Vince Gilligan and Vincent Ngo. Will Smith stars as the titular superhero, a rough-around-the-edges crime fighter whose reckless methods cause massive collateral damage throughout the city. When his reputation hits rock bottom, he turns to a PR expert, played by Jason Bateman, who devises an unconventional strategy: having Hancock imprisoned so the public will appreciate his absence. The plan works, but upon his release, Hancock must choose between maintaining his reformed path or reverting to his destructive tendencies. Charlize Theron, Jae Head, and Eddie Marsan round out the cast.
