Based on a true story, Hachi: A Dog’s Tale is a 2009 drama directed by Lasse Hallstrom that explores the profound bond between a man and his dog. When college professor Parker Wilson discovers an abandoned Akita puppy at a train station, he brings the young dog home, intending only a temporary stay. After no one claims the puppy, Parker and his wife decide to keep him, naming him Hachi after a Japanese symbol for good luck found on his collar. Though Hachi proves resistant to typical dog training, he becomes an unwavering companion to Parker, accompanying him to the station each morning and faithfully waiting for his return each evening. The film examines themes of loyalty and devotion as an unexpected event tests the depth of their connection.
