Going to the Stick Games is a 2004 folk and world music album by Jim Boyd, featuring contemporary songs written and arranged by Boyd himself. Recorded at Black Coffee Recording and engineered by Robert Hartwig, the album draws inspiration from the traditional Stick Game played by Northwest tribes and some British Columbia tribes, a game of chance historically used to bring communities together. Boyd’s vocals are joined by Alfonso Kolb, Pam Ludwig, and Lori Ludwig, with additional instrumentation from John Bole on banjo, Brad Greene on piano, and Beth Bramhall on accordion.

This single-disc CD was released on Thunderwolf Records and showcases Boyd’s work across guitars, bass, harmonicas, and percussion alongside the vocal contributions of his ensemble. One track, Her Song, is dedicated to the memory of Dotsie Marchand. Own this folk recording as a used physical copy from us.
