Go For Broke

Movie / Show Details

Go For Broke is a 1951 war drama directed by Robert Pirosh that honors the U.S. 442nd Regimental Combat Team, a unit composed entirely of Japanese-American volunteers during World War II. Van Johnson stars as Lieutenant Michael Grayson, a prejudiced Texan initially resistant to commanding troops he doubts can be true American soldiers. Assigned to lead the regiment despite requesting a transfer, Grayson and his men deploy to the battlefields of Europe, where their courage and determination gradually transform his bigotry into respect and admiration as they prove themselves through valor under fire.
