Glimmer Field

CD Details

Telling’s third album blends classical, experimental, progressive, and folk structures into intricately layered soundscapes. Acoustic guitar, cello, viola, trumpet, flugelhorn, vibes, and melodica combine with electronic programming and ambient textures throughout. The opening track reimagines Edvard Grieg’s Norwegian Rustic March, while later songs like a cover of the blues standard “As The Years Go Passing By” showcase orchestral arrangements and mournful vocals reminiscent of Portishead. The eight-minute “The Arrow Cries” incorporates a Paiute Indian chant, adding to the album’s cinematic, poetic quality.

This CD captures melancholic atmospherics with threads of hope, designed for late-night listening. Each track rewards repeated attention, revealing new layers with every play. Grab this used copy and experience Telling’s most ambitious work at a fraction of retail cost.
