Dinotopia: Quest for the Ruby Sunstone is a 2002 animated television film based on James Gurney’s Dinotopia universe. Directed by David Winning, Mario Azzopardi, and Mike Fash, the story follows a twelve-year-old orphan named Kex who washes ashore on Dinotopia after stowing away in a lifeboat. On this hidden island where humans and intelligent dinosaurs live together in peace, Kex befriends 26, a young dinosaur, and together they must confront the evil Ogthar, who has escaped his stone prison and threatens their world. The film features voice work from Erik Von Detten, Jonathan Hyde, and Omid Djalili.
