G.I. Blues is a 1960 musical comedy directed by Norman Taurog and starring Elvis Presley as Tulsa McLean, an Army specialist stationed in West Germany. Presley’s character and his fellow soldiers are saving money to open a nightclub after their discharge, but they decide to speed up their plans by making a bet: one of them must seduce a beautiful and notoriously difficult cabaret dancer played by Juliet Prowse. When the chosen soldier gets reassigned to Alaska, Tulsa takes on the challenge himself, determined to win the wager and keep their nightclub dream alive. What begins as a calculated seduction becomes something neither of them anticipated.
