Luc Jacquet, the director behind the Oscar-winning March of the Penguins, brings his eye for wildlife cinematography to this 2007 family adventure. Set in the Jurassic mountains of eastern France, the film follows a young girl who encounters a wild fox while exploring the forest near her home and becomes intent on earning the animal’s trust. What unfolds is part fairy tale, part nature study, blending the girl’s sense of wonder with genuine moments of tension as she navigates her relationship with the elusive creature across the changing seasons.

This single-disc DVD features the film with Kate Winslet providing English-language narration over the original French production. Jacquet’s direction showcases stunning cinematography of the mountainous landscape and its diverse wildlife, creating a film that works as both family entertainment and a meditation on human connection to the natural world. Grab this used copy and experience the beauty of a film that prioritizes visual storytelling and authentic animal behavior.
