Florence Foster Jenkins is a 2016 biographical comedy-drama directed by Julia Kogan and Nicholas Martin, starring Meryl Streep as the wealthy New York heiress and socialite who devoted herself to becoming an opera singer. Set in the 1940s, the film tells the true story of Jenkins’ relentless pursuit of her musical dreams despite possessing virtually no vocal talent. Her husband and manager, St. Clair Bayfield (Hugh Grant), an aristocratic English actor, worked tirelessly to shield her from the harsh reality of her abilities. When Florence announced plans to perform at Carnegie Hall, St. Clair faced his most difficult test yet.
