Flipped is a 2010 romantic comedy-drama directed by Rob Reiner that follows two neighbors from their meeting in second grade through eighth grade in the early 1960s. Juli Baker, played by Madeline Carroll, falls for Bryce Loski, portrayed by Callan McAuliffe, the moment his family moves across the street. While Juli is certain of her feelings, Bryce initially finds her quirky nature off-putting. Told through alternating perspectives, the story chronicles how their feelings shift over six years as Juli begins to question what lies beneath Bryce’s charm, and he starts to appreciate the qualities he once dismissed. Aidan Quinn, Rebecca De Mornay, and other recognizable actors round out the supporting cast in this adaptation of Wendelin Van Draanen’s novel.
