Walt Disney’s 1940 animated musical Fantasia pairs classical compositions and modern pieces with imaginative visual storytelling, creating a unique blend of orchestra performances and spectacular animation. The film inspired Fantasia 2000, released in 1999, which continues this tradition of setting music to vivid animated sequences. Directed by Ben Sharpsteen, Bill Roberts, and Don Hahn, both films showcase the creative vision of Disney’s animation team working in concert with composers and musicians including Itzhak Perlman and James Earl Jones, who provides narration alongside Angela Lansbury and Bette Midler.

This four-disc Blu-ray and DVD combo from Buena Vista presents both films with a combined runtime of two hours and five minutes. The original Fantasia carries a G rating, while Fantasia 2000 is rated PG. The restoration brings these animated features to high definition for the first time, allowing viewers to experience the artistry and detail as originally envisioned. Grab this restored double feature at a fraction of what you’d pay for new copies.
