Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story is a 2005 family drama directed by John Gatins about a horse trainer and his young daughter who refuse to give up on an injured racehorse. When a thoroughbred named Sonador breaks his leg during a race, the horse’s owner demands he be put down, but Ben Crane (Kurt Russell) sees potential for recovery. Fired for his defiance, Ben takes Sonador home and, with the support of his daughter Cale (Dakota Fanning) and his skeptical father Pop (Kris Kristofferson), works to rehabilitate the animal and prove that a comeback is possible. The film also features David Morse, Elisabeth Shue, and Freddy Rodríguez in this inspiring tale based on true events.
