CD Details
Dozen Other Loves is Matt Nakoa’s 2014 folk and country album, a collection of songs that blend personal reflection with vivid storytelling. Nakoa explores themes of love, loss, and the passage of time across tracks like “Fool Of A Knight,” a bluegrass-tinged lament about devotion to an unreliable lover, and “Barefoot Dancer,” a nostalgic rocker that revisits a childhood memory of reconnecting with his mother. Other standouts include “Chokecherry Hill,” which contemplates grief in slow-motion fashion, and “We All Gotta Go (At Some Point),” a stripped-down existential blues. The album balances heartfelt vulnerability with musical variety, drawing on country, folk, and blues traditions.
This CD contains ten tracks spanning roughly thirty-four minutes, released on the folk and country label. Nakoa’s arrangements range from bright bluegrass harmonies and string trio accompaniment to glockenspiel, synth, and reckless rhythm sections that drive songs toward their climactic finishes. A used copy from us means you own the physical media without the new retail price tag.
