Dodgeball is a 2004 sports comedy directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, starring Vince Vaughn as Peter LaFleur, a struggling gym owner, and Ben Stiller as White Goodman, an arrogant fitness magnate. When Goodman threatens to shut down LaFleur’s modest gym, the two men settle their rivalry through an unlikely competition: a dodgeball championship. With guidance from Patches O’Houlihan, a legendary dodgeball champion played by Rip Torn, LaFleur assembles his ragtag team of Average Joes to face off against Goodman’s elite Purple Cobras squad. The film blends absurd humor with underdog sports-movie tropes, delivering laughs through outlandish scenarios and physical comedy.
