Danny Elfman, celebrated for his extensive work scoring films, ventures into concert hall composition with this 2019 release. The album features two pieces: a newly recorded Violin Concerto titled “Eleven Eleven” and a Piano Quartet. According to Elfman himself, these concert works represent a creative necessity, allowing him to compose orchestral music free from cinematic influence and to explore a more liberating artistic direction away from his prolific film scoring career.

This CD presents the Violin Concerto performed by Andreas Buschatz alongside the Piano Quartet, which features members of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Add this exploration of Elfman’s classical compositions to your collection at a fraction of retail cost.
