Eric Clapton founded the Crossroads Guitar Festival as a benefit for his Crossroads Centre rehab facility in Antigua. This 2007 concert film captures the second edition of the festival, held in suburban Chicago in July and featuring an impressive lineup of guitarists. Returning performers include B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, John Mayer, Vince Gill, and John McLaughlin, while first-time participants such as Derek Trucks, Jeff Beck, and Albert Lee bring fresh energy to the stage. The festival showcases blues and rock performances that range from traditional to experimental, with Beck delivering particularly inventive playing that pushes the boundaries of what the electric guitar can do.
