Cracked Rear View

CD Details

Hootie & The Blowfish released Cracked Rear View in 1995 as their commercial debut, bringing together four South Carolina musicians to create an alternative rock album that blends blues-rock with pop appeal. Fronted by Darius Rucker’s distinctive baritone vocals and anchored by Mark Bryan’s guitar work, the band crafted a collection of feel-good songs that resonated with listeners. Standout tracks like “Only Wanna Be With You,” “Let Her Cry,” and “Hold My Hand” showcase the group’s ability to write accessible, singalong material that feels genuine and heartfelt, even as it follows a proven formula for commercial success.

This is a CD release on Atlantic Records containing eleven tracks including “Hannah Jane,” “Running From An Angel,” “Drowning,” “Time,” and “Goodbye.” The album runs approximately 48 minutes and captures the band’s energetic southern rock sensibilities with an emphasis on melody and emotional connection rather than technical complexity.
