Covers is a 2008 pop album by James Taylor featuring his interpretations of songs from across American music history. Recorded live with his full band in a converted barn in Western Massachusetts over ten days in January, the album brings together material made famous by artists including Buddy Holly, the Dixie Chicks, the Temptations, Leonard Cohen, George Jones, and Eddie Cochran. Taylor has covered songs throughout his career, and this collection represents tunes he had performed live over the years but never previously recorded in studio form. The sessions captured an immediate energy from having all twelve musicians performing together in real time, a rarity in modern recording.

This is a CD on the Hear Music label with a total runtime of approximately 43 minutes. The album includes interpretations of Wichita Lineman, Hound Dog, Suzanne, Seminole Wind, On Broadway, and eight additional tracks spanning various American songwriting traditions. Grab this used copy and own a significant work from one of the greatest artists of his generation.
