Contraband is a 2012 action thriller directed by Baltasar Kormákur and starring Mark Wahlberg as Chris Farraday, a former smuggler trying to leave his criminal life behind for his wife and family. When a dangerous New Orleans drug lord played by Giovanni Ribisi threatens those close to him over a debt, Farraday is forced back into the underworld for one final job. He must smuggle cargo aboard a ship from Panama to pay off the gangster, but his carefully laid plans quickly unravel in Panama City, and nothing goes as intended.
