Cobra Style: Lost Productions is a 1999 reggae album from Aston “Family Man” Barrett, the legendary bassist who shaped the sound of Bob Marley and the Wailers from the late 1960s through Marley’s death in 1981. Beyond his work with the Wailers, Barrett collaborated with some of reggae’s most influential producers and artists, including Duke Reid, Joe Gibbs, Lee Perry, and Clement “Coxsonne” Dodd. This collection rescues obscure recordings from vinyl, featuring Barrett’s foundational bass work alongside vocalists like Jimmy Riley on “We’re Gonna Make It” and the original Wailers lineup on “Distant Drums,” as well as instrumental and dub tracks that showcase his distinctive approach to the instrument.

This single-disc CD contains eleven tracks, including extended disco mixes of “Cobra Style” and “Well Pleased,” running approximately 43 minutes total. The album was released on the Lost Productions label and brings together lesser-known moments from Barrett’s prolific studio career. Acquire this reggae essential on CD at a fraction of retail cost.
