Kevin Henkes’ beloved children’s stories come to life in this animated collection from Scholastic Video. Chrysanthemum, narrated by Meryl Streep, follows a young mouse who loves her name until classmates tease her about it, learning that true friends accept you for who you are. Owen, narrated by Sarah Jessica Parker, tells of a mouse reluctant to leave his cherished yellow blanket behind when starting school. A Weekend with Wendell, narrated by Mary Beth Hurt, shows Sophie discovering she must stand up for herself during an uncomfortable sleepover.

This single DVD from New Video includes all three stories plus bonus animated tales, read-along features, and interactive menus. A used copy lets you enjoy these Henkes adaptations at a fraction of retail cost.
