Brooklyn is a 2015 period drama directed by John Crowley and adapted by Nick Hornby from Colm Toibin’s novel. Set in the 1950s, the film follows Eilis Lacey, a young Irish woman who immigrates to New York in search of better opportunities. As she builds a new life in America, including a budding romance with an Italian-American plumber, a family tragedy forces her to return home to Ireland, where she must confront difficult choices between the life she left behind and the one she has begun to create across the Atlantic. The cast includes Emory Cohen, Jim Broadbent, and Eileen O’Higgins.
