Bring On the Birds is a fascinating video overview of the birds of California, home to over half the birds in the U.S. Utilizing beautiful live action photography, the video introduces over 150 of the state’s most commonly seen birds. To assist the viewer with bird identification, every species is subtitled, and the narration points out fascinating features, fun facts and ID tips for the west’s most frequently spotted birds.

Even non-Californians are enjoying Bring On the Birds, since a large percentage of the video’s 150+ species can be found nationwide. Birds are presented by family (e.g. flycatchers, swallows, herons, hawks, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, etc.), categories of birds that thrive throughout the country.

FREE BIRD CHART INCLUDED
Each Bring On the Birds DVD comes with a free 14×19 two-sided chart, featuring photos and factoids for 132 of California’s most common birds. This colorful chart stands on its own as a handy mini field guide, while serving as a useful companion to the video as well.

This video covers so many birds, but I still wanted it to go on and on! I love being able to press pause to study a particular bird and skip between sections with my remote. The photography is awesome and the subtitles make the bird names stick. As a result, I’ve learned more birds in a few hours than I did in the previous year or two. The funny moments are great too. The narrator keeps up the pace and points out interesting tidbits, which I love, like how to distinguish a crow from a raven.
