Bowfinger is a 1999 comedy directed by Frank Oz and written by Steve Martin, who also stars in the film. Steve Martin plays Bobby Bowfinger, a perpetually unsuccessful Hollywood director who dreams of making it big. When he decides to film a sci-fi movie called Chubby Rain, he realizes he needs a major star to secure financing. That star is Kit Ramsey, played by Eddie Murphy, a paranoid A-list actor who wants nothing to do with Bowfinger’s project. Undeterred, Bowfinger devises a clever scheme to film Ramsey without the actor’s knowledge, enlisting the help of Kit’s nerdy brother Jiff, an ambitious aspiring actress named Carol, played by Heather Graham, and a fading Hollywood diva portrayed by Christine Baranski.

This widescreen DVD release from Universal Pictures runs 97 minutes and carries a PG-13 rating.
