Bordertown is a 2007 crime thriller directed by Gregory Nava that follows an American journalist investigating a series of murders along the U.S.-Mexico border. When Chicago Sentinel editor George Morgan sends ambitious reporter Lauren Adrian to Juarez to look into the killings of women working in maquiladoras, she discovers a story far larger than she anticipated. With help from Diaz Alfonso, a local newspaper editor and her former colleague, Lauren works to protect Eva, a young woman who survived an attack and holds crucial information about the crimes. As she pursues the truth, Lauren uncovers a web of corruption that reaches across both sides of the border, putting herself and everyone around her in danger.
