Basic Instinct 2 is a 2006 thriller directed by Michael Caton-Jones and written by Henry Bean, Joe Eszterhas, and Leora Barish. Sharon Stone returns as Catherine Tramell, a novelist who becomes entangled with a Scotland Yard-appointed psychiatrist played by David Morrissey. As the two grow closer, Tramell manipulates the doctor into a perilous game of seduction and intrigue while remaining a suspect in a murder investigation. The cast also includes Charlotte Rampling, David Thewlis, and Neil Maskell.
