Atlas Shrugged: Part One is a 2011 drama based on Ayn Rand’s 1957 novel, directed by Paul Johansson. Railroad executive Dagny Taggart battles to preserve her business as economic collapse threatens society around her. The story weaves together her strategic maneuvering over Colorado real estate, an ongoing financial crisis, and her connection with industrialist Hank Rearden, whose revolutionary metal alloy could transform the railroad industry. At its core, the film explores Rand’s philosophy of rational self-interest and individual achievement against the backdrop of government regulation and societal decline.
