Army of Me is the debut album from Washington DC-based rock band Cactus Patch, released in 2001. The group features singer and guitarist Vince Scheuerman, drummer Dennis Manuel, and bassist John Hutchins. After winning WHFS’s Big Break battle of the bands competition against 500 other acts, Cactus Patch became the only unsigned band to perform at that year’s HFStival. Critics praised the album for its strong melodies, thoughtful arrangements, and distinctive radio-ready sound that stands out in the rock landscape.

This CD contains the band’s self-titled debut release on the Cactus Patch label. The Washington Post noted Scheuerman’s vocal development alongside comparisons to Jeff Buckley, Thom Yorke, and Morrissey, while the Washington Times highlighted the group’s attention to detail and original, upbeat songwriting.
